Please note - there will be no class on October 20th.

Take your sewing skills to the next level and make your very own unique coat for this winter and the winters to come.

As September rolls on and the blistering Scottish Summer comes to a close, it might be time for another layer or two. In this 14-week course, Stitchery Founder, Cassandra Belanger, will be guiding you through some intermediate to advanced sewing techniques in order to make your very own seasonal jacket or coat.

Topics covered will include basic pattern adjustments & fitting techniques; inserting a separating zipper; patch & welt pockets; setting in sleeves; attached a hood or collar; inserting lining; and a variety of hand-stitching techniques. Students will be introduced to basic tailoring techniques and benefit from on-to-one fitting sessions with Cassandra.

As the base pattern for your jacket/coat, you can work from either the Saler Jacket (women's), Cascade Duffel Coat (women's), or the Albion Duffel Coat (men's).

Note: Note you must have prior sewing experience to take part in this course. We recommend having completed one of our Beyond Beginner courses or equivalent. If you're keen to take this course, but your not sure if you have the right level of experience yet, feel free to get in touch and discuss.
