2-day weekend workshop // 9:30am - 5pm both days // Level: Beginner // Instructor: Susie Haigh, Designer // Cost: £130 (inc. pattern) // Pattern: Marigold Trousers by Tilly & The Buttons

Learn the basics of making your own clothes, and create something new and unique for your wardrobe!

Be Yourself. Choose your own fabric; fit it to your own unique body; express your own unique style. If you've had enough of ill-fitting, low quality, hi-street clothing, then this weekend workshop is your opportunity to break from the herd.

The Marigold Trousers by Tilly & The Buttons

Learn sewing machine basics; stitches & seams; fabric terms; using a sewing pattern; basic seams & seam finishes; making an elasticated waistband; slash pockets; darts & pleats. Boost your wardrobe with your own self made pair of Marigold Trousers. This is a simple wardrobe staple that can be made again and again in different fabrics. (note: the jumpsuit version will not be covered on this Beginner's course, but it is something you could go on to try at a later date).

This course is open to complete beginners and sewing machines are available for every student, although you may bring your own if you wish.

Providing Your Measurements

As part of the online booking process, we'll be asking you to provide your waist and hip measurements in inches. This will be helpful as we prepare for the class. If you're not in a position to provide these right now, you'll have the option to email them at a later date to info@thestitcherystudio.com. If you're unsure how to take these measurements, take a look at this blog post for some helpful tips.
