In this 2-hour workshop, led by Patricia Collins, we'll be helping you to get your head around these rather odd looking machines. Topics covered will include threading; setting thread tension; and working with knit and woven fabrics. Students will then share one machine between two, taking it in turns to practice a variety of techniques and create their own samples.

Sew Doable: Set-In Sleeves

Setting in a sleeve is a standard requirement for many garments, and once you've learned this basic technique it's something you can use again and again. In this two hour workshop, Susie Haigh will be demonstrating how to set in a standard sleeve, including some tips on giving it the right amount of ease. Students will then have an opportunity to try out this technique on their own sample, with Susie on hand for any questions.

Sew Doable: Linings

2 hour workshop // 12:30pm - 2:30pm // Instructor: Susie Haigh // Level: Beyond Beginner // Part of Sew Doable Weekend

There are many different methods for lining a garment and it's hard to know what method to choose and why. In this workshop we'll be showing you, through the use of samples, what the various methods are and when to use them. Susie will be demonstrating the all-in-one method, with each student then going on to try this out in a sleeveless lined bodice. Participants will also have the opportunity to watch a demo on attaching a skirt lining to a waistband or facing.

In this workshop Susie Haigh will be demonstrating step-by-step techniques for a Full Bust Adjustment (FBA) and Small Bust Adjustment (SBA) on a paper patterns. Students will have the opportunity to try one of these techniques for themselves. Susie will also be covering dart manipulation.
